“It seems as though Visionary has a case of 20 / 20 hindsight. Visionary Communications is proud to be "THE" pioneer in Wyoming...”

20 / 20 Hindsight from Visionary Communications We ran accross the existence of this great little company the other day and thought it worth a mention. The company is Visionary Communications of Gillette, Wyoming. Their "about" page begins with, "Visionary is the pioneering ISP in Wyoming and surrounding areas." Put an emphasis on the "the" ! Wyoming is not exactly the kind of place that the Comcasts, Verizons, or for that matter, the Qwests of the world really WANT to do business. In the business world today the driving force is money. Ok, that's what we have always been in business for. But, somehow, in the past 25 years or so, the route to the bottom line changed. A few years back every great company believed that the correct route to a sustained healthy bottom line was through service. Today, we find the route to the bottom line to be statistical, and mediocrity is the standard for service. If the stats are not acceptable the big companies will not provide services in certain areas, or feel justified in compromising the quality of the services in those areas. It is the "milk it for what it is worth" standard. It seems as though Visionary has a case of 20 / 20 hindsight. Visionary Communications is proud to be "THE" pioneer in Wyoming, and offering great products and services in an area where the big guns cannot justify enough 7 and 8 figure salaries. Visionary not only services Wyoming, but also Colorado, South Dakota, and our home state, Montana. We are not just talking dial-up internet access here, Visionary has a great line of high speed internet products, too. Take their ADSL 2 +, which runs at 25 Mbps down and 2 Mbps down. That's roughly 16 times the speed of a T1. Or, their Bonded DSL product, which has been provided to meet the needs of businesses like banks and heathcare facilities. It delivers the bandwidth of a DS3 line. And, these are just two of their rich product line. What is amazing to us, given the nature of todays business world, is that these innovative services are provided in areas like Casper, Gillette, Billings, and smaller towns like Cody. As Jeremy Malli, Visionary's Chief Technology Officer and self-proclaimed Alpha Geek, puts it, "Internet providers focus on the metro areas and large cities, if it is up to us to push the broadband envelope, we will."
